Yamaha G1 neck versus new 62

by kenneth

I was sold a YTS 62II as a 62III, seller claims it was a mistake and is willing to replace the case and neck of the YTS 62II for a neck and case of the YTS 62III. Is there a significant difference in the neck of the 62II which is a G1 and the neck of the 62III which is a 62 neck. Any other comments are welcome, thanks ken

YTSII represented as a YTSIII

There are some other design difference beyond the case and the neck such as a redesign of the low B-C# connection. Another thing to consider is that if you ever go to sell it, you will have to advertise it as a II which is an obsolete model, not a III... this will vastly reduce the bringing price of the horn. I would ask the guy to take the horn back and replace it with what he said he was selling you, or compensate you beyond the case and neck.
