Choose the Alto Sax
by: Sharon Sukola

My advice is to start with the alto sax. Later, you can add the tenor and/or sprano. The embouchere on the alto mouthpiece, is good for a beginner.. Good luck. By the way, I like Yamaha.

Beginner models

I suggest you start with a Conn-Selmer Prelude Alto saxophone with a 4C mouthpiece and Rico 2 or 2 1/2 reeds. After a year or two you could consider a Selmer Aristocrat AS600L alto sax with a Meyer 5M moutpiece and LaVoz Medium reeds and a Selmer ligature.
