Mannheim Alto Sax
by: Tammy

I found a Mannheim alto sax at a pawn shop. The engraving and look of it reminds me of my Selmer Super Action 80. It has the look of a high-end saxophone. I have not purchased it yet because I wanted to do some research on it. I have not heard of the brand. Any more info would be helpful.

Mannheim Sax

I also have a Mannheim Saxophone. I too bought mine from Hastings Music Store for $300. Great deal, I say. Ever held a Yamaha YAS23, cheap. I would recommend keeping the Mannheim, very pro for the money. Hey Gregg B. Where did you find the information about the sax being made in Wichita Falls?

Mannheim sax
by: Gregg B.

I, too, have a Mannheim alto saxophone. I bought mine from Hasting's Books and Music a few years ago (perhaps 4 or 5 years ago?). I think it was an excellent bargain, because it only cost me $200 (after the mail-in rebate of $99; the store price was $299), and it seems like a pro horn to me, especially with the high-f# key, which is usually reserved for only the more luxurious models. I don't know whether Mannheim musical instruments are still made, but I believe that they were from a company in Wichita Falls, Texas.
