Selmer US Alto Saxophone - serial numbers

by Dawn McGoey
(London, ON)

I have purchased a Selmer Alto Saxophone, unsure of the model but the serial number starts with an "8" and is 6 digits long. Is it really a Selmer?

Ditto on the question

I have the identical question, so am really interested in the answer. I like the playability of the instrument and tone.

Selmer Alto Sax serial 8xxxxx
by: Anonymous

I have the same problem. Can't find any info refer to my Selmer USA Alto Sax serial # 8xxxxx. It looks pretty old, but has such nice sound and tone. My instructor even likes it much more than his. I bought from professional player on ebay 4 years ago, cost me $450 including shipping.
