Pro Players - Is it O.K. To play without pay in a mall , to sell your CD.s?

Why wouldnt it be O.K. to play in the mall, as long as you have permission. I have done it many times.
Also, when I lived in Nashville, I used to to a park that had a band shell. I would practice every day there. People would come down on their lunch time, bring a sack lunch, and sit on the benches and listen Myself and friend who played gutitar and had a small portable amp that was battery powered, used to go out and play on the sidewalks around town. But then, that is Nashville, Music City. I also used to go to another band shell in the mornings ( in the summer ) and practice. It was in a small town, the band shell was on the water front, but faced several houses on the street. I never had any complaints. Of, course, that may depend on what you sound like and what you play as you practice. LOL
The next summer, I didnt go down to the park anymore. I ran into a woman who lived in one of the homes near the band shell. She said she missed my sax playing in the mornings!
