Plz help...I want to play a sax...I am obsessed with its tune and tone.....

I do not have an idea about musical instruments,I have never tried my hand on any kind of instrument,I even dnt know how to sing,I smoke on a regular basis,I am 30 yrs old,But I Love music,I have a passion for music,for a long time I thought of playing an instrument my self...I love listning to Saxophone...will I be able to play one my self with the above given condition & if yes what is the make I should start with(viz. Alto, tenor or others)
Plz advise will I be able to play a sax and sing a song for myself ever?
Want to buy one today a second hand(used,imported) or a new depending on the price..
Waiting for a response egerly.

the sax is simple to use once you learn the basics and you will be able to teach yourself using the books provided or just for the music.

i am selling my alto Sax, it has many additional items such as learning books and spare reeds etc, check it out on Ebay,
