New Alto Saxophone - playing a certain range of notes

I recently bought a new alto sax that is clearly a much better quality than my older one. However, I'm having a slight problem playing a certain range of notes.

The note range is from B to Eb. This includes C sharp as well. With a bit of warming up and repetition, I can hit these notes, though not easily.

I was wondering if this is usual with a new saxophone and I just need to keep practicing and break it in, or if it's another problem.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Try adjusting your embrouchure, and also check your sax for leaks. If there's a leaking pad then it'll screw with the whole sax, but if it's embrouchure then it's an eas fix, tighten or loosen, whatever. I really used to have to fight my top G but then I tighten the embrouchure and viola no problems.
