Here's the trick
by: Charlotte

You can memorize the key of a sax, (like: alto is Eb, Tenor is Bb, etc.) but here is the trick to figuring it out yourself.

Find the middle C key on a piano, and match it to your sax. Play every note on your sax until you find the same pitch as the piano is playing. THAT is the key of your saxophone.

On my alto, for example, when I play the alto's Eb, it sounds like a C on a piano. :)

This works for every instrument.
