Free Tenor Saxophone Music
If you do a web search, you can find free tenor saxophone music that you can download. Be forewarned that most of the sheet music you can download without cost is music that is too old to be copyrighted. It is not likely that you will find your favorite pop song or movie theme in a form that is free to make copies of.
However, since most classical music was written centuries ago, it is possible to find select pieces of free tenor saxophone music. Sometimes you can find solo saxophone sheet music that includes the piano accompaniment. You may be able to find music for a saxophone trio or quartet, too. An example of a piece that can be downloaded free in a printable PDF file is Luigi Boccherini's Minuet and Trio from Quintet in E, Op. 13, No. 5.
In some cases, you will need to download a plug-in (computer program), such as Sibelius Scorch, in order to see the music. This may present problems, depending on your computer and your computer skills. If you can't get it to download, just look elsewhere for free tenor saxophone music.
While it's not exactly free music, you can always check through the books at thrift shops and yard sales. Sometimes you can find great music at a very inexpensive price. Another idea is to see what your local public library has available in its music section. You might be surprised to find a wide variety of popular and copyrighted music.
One problem with this type of free saxophone music is the possibility that a piece was not transcribed for the tenor sax. If you find a book that features piano accompaniment along with a melody line, the melody line has to be transcribed into a different key. This is because a piano is a C instrument while a tenor sax is a B-flat instrument.
