Entry level sax

by Greg
(Derby, UK)

Hi, I'm a beginner ( actually a complete novice!) and want to know which is the best type of sax to learn on.
I want to play the tenor, when able but should i start off with an alto?

Many thanks,
Greg

alto saxophone - best sax for beginners
by: SaxGuide

Hi Greg,

Congratulations on your new saxophone journey!

You are absolutely correct. The best type of saxophone to start off with is an alto. When you have grasped the alto, you can move on to the tenor saxophone.

All the best.
