Comparing Baron, King and Buescher Alto Sax

by Cheryl
(Ottawa, Canada)

I've rented an Alto sax for 3 yrs and now my youngest son also wants to play it for his classroom instrument. I am thinking of buying now. I have an option of purchasing a 1960 or so Buescher Alto Sax for $600.00 or a Baron or King for $250.00. I'm obviously considering the $600.00 Buescher because you get what you pay for but am not sure about the other two. Does anyone else know. Is the Baron and King just as good for what I need it for. He might take Sax in grade 9 and up music once he finishes Grade 7 and 8.

they are really fine you are probably offered a sax thats not that good in shape or something but you can take it to the music store and get it fixed for about 300 dollars so i think you'll pay more for repaors than 600 so go with 600 is my opinion
