best saxophone for 14 year old

I thinking about buying a saxophone for my 14 year old son. What type is best, and should I purchase a new one or old (1920-1940) like I have been told?

In my opinon a Yamaha Saxophone has really great quality. My dad got one and it is "awesome".

I have a friend that has had too many problems with yamaha, I think Boston is better
