Alto Saxophone Music
Some situations in which you might find yourself needing alto saxophone solos are if you are going to be playing the alto sax in a music contest or if you are a music teacher looking for special recital music. You also might like an arrangement of alto sax with piano in order to play a song such as “Amazing Grace,” as a performance in church. Junior high and high school band teachers usually have a selection of alto sax solos and ensemble music to choose from, but what if you don’t like the piece they give you to play? If you shop around, you are sure to find solos that are more suited to your own tastes.
For contest playing, classical solos are usually selected. For example, you might like to play an arrangement of Pachelbel’s Canon or Shubert’s Ave Maria. In addition to sheet music, though, you might want to get a book of alto saxophone solos. You can get these in songs from your favorite country or rock singer, or even in Christmas carols! Whatever your needs you can find these and other fine solos, arranged to the level of difficulty you need, if you shop online.
